The Jewellery
Inspired by nature, each design begins with a seed of inspiration and eventually blossoms into our shop for you to explore. Every piece of Tryst Jewelry is lovingly hand made in our Toronto studio and incorporate a luscious variety of vibrant beads made from glass, semiprecious stones, shell, wood and occasionally acrylic. The metals used in our designs are mainly brass, plated in a long lasting tarnish resistant gold or rhodium (silver) satin finish. Our goal is to create wearable pieces that transition smoothly into the following seasons. New collections are created with previous colour stories in mind so you can mix and match the tryst pieces you already own with our latest ones! Layer pieces within the 'Basics' collection or layer them with charm pieces from seasonal collections! Through our designs, we hope to delight you with a sense of curiosity and adventure to appreciate the simple things that nature has to offer. Jewellery Care & Maintenance Each piece of jewellery is handmade with great care and attention to detail - each piece should always be handled delicately. Although I use quality materials to create my pieces, proper maintenance will help ensure that your pieces last. • Storage: Avoid exposing your pieces to direct sunlight and heat, this will ensure that the stones and beads used are as vibrant as they originally are the day you purchased them! Keep your jewellery in an airtight box or zip bag - away from hairsprays, perfumes, scented candles and air fresheners. • Cleaning: Please clean all earrings before wearing them with rubbing alcohol and a clean cotton pad/tissue. To clean your jewellery, gently wash with a mild soap and pat dry with a clean towel (with the exception of screened lockets, which should NOT be immersed in water, but wiped clean with a damp cloth). Raw brass tends to tarnish over time from exposure to the air and the skin. This tarnish has a tendency to rub off onto the skin if not cleaned every so often. Tarnish on brass can be removed using a dilute 60% water and 40% vinegar solution. Keep an eye on your jewellery until its shine is restored, prolonged immersion in this solution will damage the metal. Both sterling silver and silver plated components also oxidize and tarnish over time, gently wipe with a jewellery polishing cloth to restore their original shine. Jewelry should always be the last thing you put on before you go out, and the first thing you take off when you come home.
